Read who's staying behind & moving with AMC when the show moves to Los Angeles from an ABC News report with comments from Susan Lucci: Going West With 'All My Children'
Sad news as AMC prepares to leave New York City for Los Angeles. Numerous soap opera sites are reporting this. Daytime Confidential reported it as a rumor a few weeks ago, but it seems to have been confirmed...
Beth Ehlers will be leaving the show before AMC wraps up its run in New York. She was only on for a little over a year, and she was badly written for. So, she deserves better, and I wish her all the best.
I was really enjoying her pairing with Michael E. Knight. Tad & Taylor were pretty cute together. But what's really sad is that this news marks the true end of Jake & Taylor. They weren't working before, but I always had a bit of hope that they'd be re-explored later. And the actors were still funny as hell together on-screen; there continued to be a glimmer of their old Guiding Light magic. With Beth leaving, it's the end of an era. Ricky and Beth had a wonderful acting partnership, and it will be sorely missed.
It was extremely difficult to choose the best or my favorite photo from this week. I know I only had two episodes to look through, but nothing stood out to me. And the pictures aren't the best quality, and it's not like Jake & Taylor are dancing as a romantic couple.
So...I've chosen this picture simply because I love seeing Taylor's arms around Jake. I've missed the actors playing a romantic pairing, so to see them close like that is nice. Also, it's not as obvious that Jake's looking at Amanda. Jake and Taylor are just two people dancing. I know neither of them look happy, but it's a joy to see them in close contact again.
More dancing between Jake & Taylor, but also more drama.
They earned a break, and Taylor knew what Jake needed to make him feel better. I've left out the clip where Taylor holds baby Trevor & distracts David as Jake gets Amanda alone. Taylor became obvious, though, and David interrupted Jake & Amanda. Later on, Jake & Taylor returned to the dance floor as did David & Amanda. While on air, Tad interviewed Jake & Taylor about who's the stronger dance partner. Jake couldn't stop staring at Amanda and had to break up her dancing. A fight almost ensued. Tad & Taylor took Jake away to cool off. At the end of the episode Frankie and Jesse are busting into the bathroom to find Randi but instead find Taylor unconscious. Oh my!
Credit goes to amafan4eva again. You'll also see the rest of Pine Valley's action in these clips.
Jake buts his way in and becomes Taylor's partner!! They dance the night away! I believe their number changed from 28 to 35. Or it's both numbers. Weird because Brot and Taylor wore 28 while Jake and Natalia wore 35. Can you imagine the confusion of calling in pledges for couples wearing the same numbers? LOL!
You'll find/see them dancing in these clips from two different parts of the episode. You'll also see everyone else.
I'm pretty sure it's for this week. It may not be an actual moment that we see. Could have been Ricky & Beth in between takes, or maybe while they weren't on camera. Whatever the case may be, it's one hell of a beautiful picture. Wonderful for us Ricky & Beth fans!
From September 13, 2009. Almost the entire cast attends the luncheon. I thought Ricky was attending, but I don't know. I've found just a few photos of Beth. I'm sure there are more to come of hopefully both Beth and Ricky. Beth pays homage to Guiding Light by wearing a "Harley Davidson" t-shirt. Her character's full name was Harley Davidson Cooper. So, kudos to Beth! The third photo features her with her two sons, Will and Hank.
From September 12, 2009 during AMC's fan club weekend. Ricky had his own event, and several fellow AMC actors joined him. Beth was scheduled to attend, and I assume she went. But there are no photos of her yet. So, I don't know. There are several photos of Ricky, though, of course.
The journey of Ricky Paull Goldin and Beth Ehlers on All My Children is now over since the show moved to Los Angeles and Beth was let go. This blog serves as an archive of their time from 2008 through 2009 as Jake Martin and Taylor Thompson.
