10/30 ~ Frustration
Taylor lets out a lot of anger towards all who visit her, including Jake. She is afraid of being paralyzed permanently. Jake deals with Zach and Joe over the Kendall situation.

Taylor: My two favorite doctors. Don't ask me to pick my favorite. I won't be able to do it.
Jake: I just want to say that was a hell of a cartwheel you did. Sign you up for the circus. I've never seen you head over heels about anything.
Frankie: All right.
[Taylor chuckles]
Frankie: Feel this?
Taylor: Yes. I am never fighting your battles for you ever again.
Jake: Did I ask you to help me? I did not.
[Taylor chuckles]
Frankie: What about this?
Taylor: Yes. Clearly, you needed backup, clearly.
Jake: All right, I'm sorry.

Frankie: Feel this?
Taylor: Yeah, I can feel the whole arm. Don't apologize to me. It's not necessary. Actually, it's my fault. My foot just gave out and I just -- I went down. But since you're here and you are looking me in the eyes, admit it, you needed my help.

Jake: Maybe a little -- no, not at all. I can take care of myself.
Taylor: Take care of yourself. How could I forget? The bra in your living room is evidence that you're very --

Frankie: It -- it's, uh, typical for this kind of injury.

Taylor: Please, guys, drop the pretense. What the hell happened to me? Why can't I feel my foot?
Frankie: Here, here, and here you feel nothing, correct?
Taylor: Oh, damn.
Jake: Listen. It's trauma due to the fall. You have swelling around the spine.
Taylor: Swelling around the spine? That sounds bad.
Frankie: Well, in most cases, the feeling returns once the swelling subsides.
Taylor: Most cases.
Frankie: Yeah. With a little luck, we'll reduce the swelling and take it from there.
Taylor: Well, you're talking to the right girl. I'm -- I'm lucky. I'm feeling the luck already.
Jake: Look, I'm going to check on a couple of other patients, but I'm going to stick my head in and see you, ok?

Jake: Very impressive. You guys helped save some lives today.
Taylor: Yeah. I was just on my way to get fitted for my -- my cape and some tights. What's going on with you?
Jake: Just spent some time digging around in Kendall Slater's brain, is all.
Taylor: I'm sorry. Will she be all right?
Jake: She's alive.
Taylor: Well, thank God for you then, huh? I'm sure you did everything you could.
Jake: When the tornado hit and the lights went out, I -- I felt like I was back in Africa there for a second, working without a net and no rules, no backup. I -- I forgot where I was just for a moment, you know, and I just pushed forward, determined to do the impossible, I guess, save a life, with all the odds stacked against me. Ahem.
Taylor: And you did. You saved her life.
Jake: She had a seizure. She's unresponsive.
Taylor: I sure could use some coffee. I think you could, too. Don't go anywhere. I'll be right back. Hi, Dr. Martin.
Joe: Hello, Taylor.
Joe: Jake. I spoke to the anesthesiologist and the rest of the surgical team. What were you thinking, continuing the operation with the power out?
Jake: I was trying to save her life. Dad, she seized. That has nothing to do with the power going out.
Joe: Yeah, well, it doesn't matter. You didn't follow procedure. You took excess risk continuing under the circumstances. You made a mistake, son.
Zach: A mistake? I'd say you guys sure made a mistake. Huh?
Jake: I did everything I could to help her.
Zach: Help her? It's nothing to do with Kendall. It's all about you. Hot-shot doctor tries to pull off miracles. Only this time it didn't work, and Kendall had to pay the price.
Joe: All right, enough, Zach, enough.
Jake: Excuse me.
Zach: I'm talking to you.
[Taylor screams as she falls down the stairs]

10/27 ~ Paralyzed
That says it all. Our Taylor is paralyzed from the waist down, and all there is is hope that it's only temporary. I also hope this means that Jake & Taylor's story is more frontburner.

10/24 ~ Stairwell
There were a few quick but good Jake/Taylor scenes before the major tragedy of Taylor falling down the stairs. Zach overheard Joe tell Jake that Jake made a mistake in operating on Kendall while the power was out. Zach confronted Jake, and held him against a wall. Taylor showed up suddenly, and Zach accidentally pushed her down the steps. I know from spoilers that this injury will be VERY bad.

Tad: No. On the other hand, the good news is, it looks like your new toy is doing just fine.

Amanda: Can I call you that? We haven't had the talk yet.
Jake: Mmm, have you been up all night or something?
Amanda: Uh, celebrating "Bella's" demise and, uh, my bank account deserves a couple of cocktails now.

10/15 ~ Redeployment!!
Taylor has gotten her redeployment papers, and she is celebrating a bit with Frankie, Jake, and Amanda. They are all happy for her, and Amanda is pleased that her competition for Jake is leaving. Amanda gets drunk, and Jake & Taylor help her back to the yacht. All in all, it wasn't much of an episode for Jake and Taylor. Their story is really progressing slowly. And how could Taylor's shrink approve her for redeployment after the bit of anger shown during her second session? Also, what happened to Taylor's foot problem? UGH! TPTB are speeding things up so that Taylor's upcoming injury has more impact. And yes, that was a little spoiler.

10/8 & 10/9 ~ A Meet, A Visit
Taylor was on without Jake, which was a bit refreshing. She met Tad for the first time, which was wonderful because she needs to interact more with the rest of the cast. She also had scenes with Frankie, in which they visited Brot's mom. They discovered that Brot never mentioned Taylor to her, and that really upsetted Taylor. I thought all of these Taylor's scenes were very good. I hope to see more of her with other AMC characters and to learn more about her since her life is more than just her blossoming relationship with Jake.

Jake: I don't know. Maybe it's because I'm a doctor. I'm trying to help her.

10/7 ~ The Dance Continued
It wasn't much of a continuation. Two extremely short scenes of Jake & Taylor! Taylor pulls away from Jake and ends up leaving quickly. Jake hangs with Tad a little and then sees Amanda at Fusion. Tad tells Krystal that someone has contacted him about investigating Taylor. Ooooh...who would want to know about Taylor? Brot maybe? Brot's family? Or her own family? Hmmm.

Picture Of The 9/29 Week!
I've had the idea to share a weekly picture for a while, but I've been waiting for the right time in Jake and Taylor's relationship. This past week featured the opportunity to choose a picture that, in my opinion, is the best of all the screencaps I made for the week.
On October 2nd, Jake and Taylor's connection deepened a bit, and I finally saw a spark between them. I've been waiting for Ricky Paull Goldin & Beth Ehlers' famous magical chemistry to shine through in their new roles. Of course I was worried when viewers pointed out that they weren't seeing the chemistry. But I had hope that when it's suppose to be there, it will be. On Thursday Jake grabbed Taylor's hand. They held hands for a bit, and there was chemistry. They also had some amazing eye contact.
Thus, the picture-of-the-week features the hand-holding:

Amanda: I thought it would be cute, fun, sexy.
Jake: Well, but wait, wait, listen, look at me. It was, it was, it really was, it was all of those things. Oh, no.
Amanda: What, what does that mean?
Jake: God.
Amanda: What, you're freaking me out?
Jake: This is not taylor's jacket. This is monroe, her fiance, brot monroe.
Amanda: Oh, ok, hold up. Taylor's engaged?
Jake: Well, she was. The guy died last year.
Amanda: Oh, my god, I was using her dead fiance's uniform as foreplay. Can you imagine what she thought when she saw us like that?

Jake: There's no way you could have known that.
Amanda: Still, I need to find taylor and apologize. Tell her she can use me for target practice, or something.
Jake: That's what I was going to say. Why don't you just take a deep breath and you stay here, ok? And I'll go look. I'll go look for her and talk to her.
Amanda: But I'm the one who messed up.
Jake: I understand that, but I'll tell her you're sorry, all right? I just don't want her to feel anymore uncomfortable than she already does. Make sense?
Amanda: Ok, I'll stay here in case she comes home.
Jake: Good.
Amanda: So much for our sexcellent celebration.
Jake: Sexcellent, nice.
Amanda: I just came up with that. You like?
Jake: Yes, very much, sexcellent. All right, so when I get back we'll pick up with um, with what you said, ok?
Amanda: Ok.
Jake: All right.
Amanda: In case you forget.
Jake: Yeah, that's a kiss you can't forget. I'll be back, don't worry.
Amanda: Ok.

Jake: Well, wow, look who's on my porch. Ahem. Would you jump over the railing?
Taylor: I like it out here. It's peaceful, it's quiet. It's not silent.
Jake: Yeah, well, you know, wait till the crickets and the bull frogs get going during mating season.
Taylor: Won't bother me. It's the silence I can't stand. That moment of absolute stillness before everything explodes. I'm sorry.
Jake: You're sorry?
Taylor: For freaking out on you guys.
Jake: I understand.
Taylor: I know you understand, but amanda doesn't, or she didn't, unless -- did you --
Jake: I did, but I hope, I mean -- I told her --
Taylor: No, it's fine. I totally get that you had to tell her because she didn't understand, and I feel bad because I like amanda, so would you just, when you go back and see her, would you just tell her I'm not mad or anything.
Jake: Oh, of course I will, and she'll be glad to hear that because she feels awful, and she didn't mean anything by wearing the, you know -- and she doesn't know about your fiance and she didn't know and trust me when I tell you, she feels awful.
Taylor: Everybody feels awful and nobody understands. Well, nobody except you.

Taylor: You know why else I like it here? Because this is the only place that I ever told his story out loud. So it makes me feel close to him.
Jake: Well, it's a lot of story to hold.
Taylor: I think about him all the time. I can see him. All I have to do is close my eyes and --
Jake: Or maybe you see him when you look at his jacket with his name on it. I have to tell you, I didn't -- I never saw the name on the jacket. I, you know -- you'd already left by the time I saw the name on the jacket.
Taylor: I didn't think that you did. You know, I thought about it afterwards and I said, he would never do that.
Jake: I would never -- I would never do something like that.
Taylor: See, I shouldn't be here. I mean, not here. I should be in iraq with my unit. Not seeing some psychiatrist. It doesn't get -- or even our little pushup contests. I guess it's --
Jake: I would like a rematch sometime. You know, there -- there's a valid reason why they don't want you to go back yet, a valid medical reason.
Taylor: This isn't about post-traumatic stress. It's not. What I saw over there? No matter how awful it was, I can get past that. I know I can. But I can't seem to get past -- the reason that I'm here is --
Taylor: I miss him. I just miss him. A place that is so deep in me. I miss him.

Taylor: What is it about you? Why do I feel that I can tell you anything?
Jake: I don't know, but I'm glad that you feel that way.
Taylor: When will I stop feeling this way? I wish -- I wish that there was something, anything that would make this go away.
10/2 ~ Fueling The Connection
I finally saw some of that amazing, magical chemistry that Ricky Paull Goldin and Beth Ehlers have together! Jake found Taylor at his cabin after she had run off. Their scenes were revealing and showed their emotional connection grow. This was the episode where they were suppose to kiss, but instead he took her hand. And that was enough. Their scenes were beautiful, and I think they continued on Friday.

10/1 ~ Brot's Jacket
Taylor had a second therapy session that we, unfortunately, didn't see. There was brief interaction between Taylor & Jake and Taylor & Frankie. Jake and Frankie discussed Taylor and Randi. Jake arrives at the yacht, and Amanda waltzes out wearing nothing but underwear and Brot's jacket. Remember that Amanda doesn't know anything about Brot or that Taylor is having psychological problems, so I assume she thinks it's okay to borrow something of Taylor's for a little while. Jake and Amanda were in the midst of passion when Taylor stumbled upon them and just stared silently at the jacket, making for a very awkward scene. I wonder what happens next!

9/28 Bowling Event
Every year Jerry verDorn (Clint, OLTL; ex-Ross, GL) and Liz Keifer (Blake, GL) host a fun, casual bowling party during the Guiding Light Fan Club Weekend. This year there were numerous stars from GL, ATWT, AMC, and OLTL. Beth stopped by for a little bit with her two sons. It looked like it was a very fun time for everyone. Wish I was there!
