12/30 Transcript

Their one scene. Credit goes to TV MegaSite again: 12/30 Full Transcript

Jake: Oh, no. Hold it. Hold on a second. I ordered a full workup over an hour ago.

Sheila: We're short-staffed tonight. I'll get to it as soon I can.

Jake: That's fine, but it only takes a minute to draw blood, right? Now, while we're having this exchange, I could've filled, what, three vials, so I just need one. Is that a problem, Sheila? Is that a problem?

Sheila: No, no.

Jake: Thank you.

Taylor: Wow. Happy New Year's Eve to you, too. What's going on?

Jake: I have two brothers and a nephew that have gone missing in the Congo, and I haven't heard anything from anybody about anything at all.

Taylor: How long have they been missing?

Jake: It's -- it's been a couple of weeks, and I'm just -- I'm kind of in some sort of a holding pattern, and I'm -- I'm pulling the hair out of -- out of my head. I'm going crazy.

Taylor: Jake, I'm so sorry.

Jake: Yeah, I'm -- here. Have a seat. And so, um, how are you?

Taylor: No, no, no, no, no, no, no. You've got enough going on. You don't need to hear my problems.

Jake: No, see, this is exactly my problem. I talk to people. They don't tell me anything, and maybe if you said something, it would just help me. It would help me with this deafening silence that I get. Well, for example, I called the relief agent, and I get no relief when I call the relief agent.

Taylor: Well, how about I asked Brot if he was leaving town.

Jake: Yeah, so what did he say?

Taylor: He said we'd talk about it later.

Jake: Hmm.

Taylor: But that's what he does. I get close, so then he pulls back, and he disappears.

Jake: You know, you know what I say. I'd say to you that if he was really leaving, really leaving, he would've left by now, no?

Taylor: See, I think this is all coming from some warped sense of responsibility. He looks at me, and he just sees a big, fat IOU.

Jake: Hmm. Well, at the very least, he owes you some sort of an explanation.

Taylor: He feels obligated to help, and I'll tell you, as soon as he senses I can really walk, he is going to skip town, and he is never looking back, and I'm going to be left wondering, "Where is he? How is he?" And -- and that could be worse than when I thought he was dead, because at least then --

Jake: Then what? He had closure?

12/30 ~ Quick Chat

Jake and Taylor had several scenes separately, but here is just their one scene together. They catch up for a bit. Credit goes to rickypaullgoldin again: http://www.youtube.com/user/rickypaullgoldin

SID 1/12/09 ~ Standout Scenes

Jake's 12/8 scenes with Greenlee were AMC's standout scenes in the most recent issue of ABC Soaps In Depth. How wonderful! Those two always have a spark when they're together. Too bad that Rebecca Budig is leaving soon. A Jake/Greenlee revival would have been pretty awesome.

Jake: Hey.

Taylor: Hey.

Jake: You here for physical therapy?

Taylor: Yeah.

Jake: How's Brot? Did you see him? How's he doing?

Taylor: He's still in jail. I think he's perfectly happy to rot in there. He won't take any help from me, he won't help himself. How do I let him bury himself in there when the guy that I knew -- you didn't know him. He was so --

Jake: So what?

Taylor: I'm not going to do this. I'm not going to dump on you. That's all I do is I dump on you all the time.

Jake: All right, well, go to physical therapy.

Taylor: Yeah.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Jake: Someone's going the wrong way.
Taylor: I -- I -- I know. I just -- I can't -- I can't focus on therapy when Brot's locked up.
Jake: Hmm.
Taylor: I can't do it. I don't know why he -- he won't even listen to me. He won't even let me help him at all. He's so stubborn. I know it's not your problem. It's my problem.
Jake: Well, it's -- it's ok.
Taylor: It's not ok. It's not ok because -- because you know, once upon a time, we were almost something, and now -- now we're --
Jake: Can I help you out -- help you out here? We're friends. And that's what friends do, they help each other. Look at this. I give you a gesture, a nice gift. Is that nice of me?
Taylor: Yes.
Jake: I'm a nice person. So why don't we just shut up with all that stuff, talking, just, you know, let's talk about options.
Taylor: With the army? The army's justice system? There are no options.
Jake: Well, there's got to be somebody that we could talk to, somebody with some power, somebody that could change something, somebody that can maybe -- anything -- reduce the charges --
Taylor: That's a great idea.
[Taylor sighs]
Jake: Yeah?
Taylor: That's a great idea. Thank you! Thank you, Jake. That's great!
Jake: Which part? Which part? Glad I could help.
12/22 ~ Closure Perhaps?
Jake plays Santa, albeit a very Scroogy one. Greenlee convinces him to talk to Taylor when she arrives for physical therapy. Jake and Taylor kinda of have closure on their relationship. They seemed to realize that what started blooming between them has died out. Taylor is in love with Brot and is focused on him. So, she's not going to realize her feelings for Jake (or his feelings for her) for some time.
After their talk, Jake is at the park and has a scene with Amanda, in which he apologizes for his drunk behavior. Jake later thinks about Taylor while in the elevator. He's hurting so much.
Not included are Taylor's scenes of helping Brot get out of military jail. She enlists Zach's help even though Brot doesn't want any help.
Officer: How did you first learn that Sergeant Monroe was still alive?
Taylor: It was Captain Frank Hubbard, sir. He told me.
Officer: Did Sergeant Monroe ever explain to you how and why he did what he did?
Taylor: No, sir. Sergeant Monroe, he was not very open with me about very much.
Officer: And the last time you saw him?
Taylor: What's going on?
Jake: The military knows that he's alive. They know that you took Mike Sweeney's identity. There's an officer down at the hospital asking all kinds of questions.
Taylor: In the hospital the last day he was released.
Officer: Thank you, Lieutenant. Contact your C.O. if you ever see Sergeant Monroe again. Understood?
Taylor: Yes, sir. Sir? What'll happen to him now -- Brot Monroe?
Officer: Well, that's for C.I.D. to decide. We're just doing preliminaries. Lieutenant.
Jake: Wow, with everything he's been through, now he's a wanted man, too.
Taylor: How much more is he supposed to take?
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Jake: So what do you think Brot's going to do now?

Taylor: What he's been doing. He'll run, only he's not just running from me now. He's running from the U.S. Army.

Jake: Where would -- where would a person go?

Taylor: I don't know, but it can't be easy for him. It's not like he can blend in with the masses anymore. He's got to be scared to death.

Jake: Well, of course, he's scared with everything he's been through. It's been a real tough road he's been running.

Taylor: Tough for a lot of us, you know? Going back to the civilian world, even if you haven't been through the hell he's been through. I don't have to tell you. You know what war is like.

Jake: Yes, I do.

Taylor: The military is so black and white. Unfortunately, the real world's not quite that cut and dried.

Jake: Well, you did it. You fought your way back. He can do it. Given time, you know? Deal with the charges, maybe get off without doing jail time, and then you can help him if that's what you want to do.

Taylor: Thank you, Jake. I don't know why you do it, but you are such a good --

Jake: I do it because you're worth it. I should get back to work.

Taylor: Hey, Jake? I think he might be gone for good this time. He's running as far away as he can.

Jake: Well, it's a big, scary world out there.

Taylor: Oh, he's scared all right, but I think he's relieved, too. You know, the Army, he can deal with that. He's used to that. Either the MPs catch up with him or they don't, but his feelings for me, my feelings for him, my feelings -- that whole thing is just way more complicated.

12/18 ~ About Brot

The military officer questions Taylor about Brot. Jake and Taylor discuss Brot before he heads back to work. This only includes the Jake/Taylor scenes, which weren't much.

Taylor: Hi. I -- long time no see. Where you been?

Jake: Been around. How's Brot?

Taylor: Uh, he's good. He's fine. He's not in the hospital anymore, but he's in town. He needs space. So we've been talking on the phone, which is kind of weird, you know, talking with him but not to him.

Jake: Right.

Taylor: I keep saying to myself, "How is any of this possible?" And he just keeps telling me that he's not the same man, so I said I'd like to know who you've become, and so we've been talking on the phone. I think I already said that.

Jake: Well, he's the same guy that you fell in love with, so --

Taylor: Jake, I can't do this.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Jake: I'm sorry, forgive me. I'm so tired. You -- you can't do what?
Taylor: Talk to you like you're my shrink. It's so weird.
Jake: He'll come around. Brot will come around.
Taylor: With you and me? I mean, I, um, what do you want to do? What should we -- do -- do we forget that -- forget it? Just act like it never happened?
Jake: I could -- I could never forget you.
Jake: Eric, I think she is ready to go back to her room now. Aren't you?
Taylor: It's ok. I can walk.
12/12 ~ Hammered
Jake and Taylor catch up a bit. Taylor asks what they should do about their relationship, and Jake says that he could never forget her. They kind of push each other away. Taylor can't talk to him like he's her therapist, and he can't deal with talking about Brot either. Jake ends up getting drunk at ConFusion, says some mean things to Amanda, and gets punched by JR. Our poor heartbroken Jake.
12/9 ~ Giving A Chance
Taylor confronts Brot about the engagement ring. Brot and Jake have it out when they get stuck in the elevator together. Jake convinces Brot to give Taylor a chance. Brot returns to Taylor and says he'll let her get to know the person he has become. Jake listens to them and is obviously hurt. All of the scenes in this episode are amazing and beautifully acted.
12/4 Transcript
Credit goes to TV MegaSite again. Again, included is all of Jake's and Taylor's scenes.
Frankie: Brot left.
Jake: Yeah, well, he's back.
Frankie: It could be to say good-bye and good luck.
Jake: We both know better than that. They need to hash their stuff out.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Taylor: You're still you.

Brot: I'm not.

Taylor: Don't turn away from me. I see you. I see the man I knew in Iraq, the most amazing man I've ever known.

Brot: I'm not that man anymore.

Taylor: You're the man I couldn't wait to marry.

Brot: It was a lie.

Taylor: We were engaged.

Brot: It was a fling.

Taylor: We were getting ready to spend our lives together.

Brot: It was a lie, Taylor. It was all a lie.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Taylor: In Iraq, you said you loved me. Was that a lie? You said we would spend forever together. Was that a lie?
Brot: People say things.
Taylor: So you were sweet-talking me through a fling? I was there. I was there. I felt what we had. That can't be faked.
Brot: It made the both of us feel good for a while.
Taylor: No, no, remember, we danced under the stars, and you held me in your arms, and you whispered in my ear? It was just you and me. Nothing else existed. Have you forgotten?
Brot: I got caught up.
Taylor: You wanted to marry me. You gave me a ring.
Brot: And you lost it.
Taylor: Yes, I lost it in the desert, and then you ordered a new one. Why would you do that if you weren't serious?
Brot: Did you ever get the ring?
Taylor: No, it didn't come because --
Brot: Because I never ordered it.
Taylor: You described it to me. It was round-cut yellow gold. You wouldn't make that up. You couldn't.
Brot: I never ordered it, Taylor.
Taylor: That's not true.
Brot: I wanted to tell you the day we were ambushed, but this happened, and I never got a chance to.
Taylor: So tell me now.
Brot: As great as you were, what we had in Iraq was going to end on our tour.
Taylor: As great as I was? As great as I was? We were in love. We were making plans, not just stuff for one day or one tour. We were talking about the future. We were talking about houses and getting a dog.
Brot: Like I said, I got caught up.
Taylor: You are such a bad liar.
Brot: You say you see so much when you look into my eyes. Look again, Taylor. Tell me what you see. Does it look like I'm lying?
Taylor: I'm not going to do this. I'm not going to do this.
Brot: Now you turn away. L.T., we're already living separate lives. The both of us have moved on.
Taylor: I thought you were dead.
Brot: And now you're in love with another man. Don't deny it because you know it's true. And I'm happy for you.
Taylor: You came back. Why would you come back?
Brot: It's over, and you know it. There's nothing left between us.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Frankie: What are you saying to me, Jake? You and Taylor -- y'all got a good thing going.

Jake: I'm saying she needs to deal with Brot. He's alive. He's back in her life. She needs to deal with that.

Frankie: Well, Brot's been insisting since I found him that he doesn't want to be a part of her life. He's made that very clear. He even thinks that Taylor's better off with you. That's why he's leaving.

Jake: Don't B.S. me, please. If he leaves, then let him leave, but he'd be leaving for the wrong reasons. The guy is lost. He's living in denial. He's living in the shadows. He's refusing to deal with his feelings. He's probably punishing himself terribly for something that's definitely not his fault. Taylor is the person that can help him find his way back.

Frankie: Hmm, nice fix, Doctor. Does Brot have any say in this? And what about Taylor -- you just going to hand her off?

Jake: This war blew their life apart. They've got to flush things out, you know?

Frankie: Taylor's already flushed a lot out already with you.

Jake: You've seen the guy. Right, he's walking and talking and breathing, but he's not living. Taylor's the person that can bring him back, give him his life back.

Frankie: And you can live with that?

Jake: I don't have time for this. I've got patients.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Brot: I've got to go.
Taylor: No.
Brot: Live your life, Taylor. Be happy, and I'll live mine. I don't need pity. I don't need help. I just need to be alone.
Taylor: Brot, please, you can't just come back into my life and then just take off like this again.
Brot: It wasn't supposed to happen like this. It wasn't supposed to happen at all. Good-bye, Taylor.
[Brot walks out]
Brot: I took care of it.
Jake: What happened?
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Taylor: Brot said it was a fling. He said he never really loved me.

Jake: Well, that can't be true, right? I mean why would he show up and dredge up an entire past if it never existed?

Taylor: Maybe it didn't. Maybe I made it all up in my head. Maybe I created this whole fantastic fantasy love affair when for him it was just -- sex.

Jake: Well, I don't buy that. You're not really the type to just dream up something like this.

Taylor: We were so in synch. Everybody could see that. One night Frankie got a bunch of the guys to decorate the tent so it would be romantic for us. And they used sterno instead of candles and -- not that we needed candles, because I'm telling you, it was always so --

Jake: What?

Taylor: What am I doing? I should not be talking to you about Brot. I shouldn't. I'm sorry.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Jake: Don't worry about me.
Taylor: Don't worry about you? How do I not worry about you?
Jake: You should think about, you know, whatever your feelings are for this guy.
Taylor: This is all really confusing. I don't know how I feel.
Jake: Well, he was a very big part of your life, you know. A love like that doesn't just go away.
Taylor: So you're pushing me to him, and he's pushing me to you.
Jake: No, I'm just saying you need to figure out what you want.
Taylor: I don't know.
Jake: You're a soldier, right? No man left behind. So if Brot needs you, you don't just walk away. That's not who you are.
Taylor: He told me he didn't want my help.
Jake: Right, but you're the only one that can save him.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

[Brot sits alone staring at Taylor's engagement ring and wiping away tears.]

12/4 ~ Hiding

Taylor sees the man she loves in Brot, but he keeps pulling away. He says he's not the same guy and that he never truly loved her. He says that she should let him go. He hides his love because he believes she's better off with Jake. Jake and Frankie talk, and Jake visits Taylor after Brot leaves. Taylor feels conflicted about Brot. She points out how Brot's pushing her to Jake and Jake's pushing her to Brot. She's in denial about what Brot said... Their love was real, and their nights together were perfect. They didn't need romance. And of course as she talks about Brot, Jake is hurt on the inside.

I really like how Taylor can talk to Jake about Brot. That shows an honest friendship between JT. I'm guessing that they will try to remain friends as Taylor deals with Brot. I'm not sure if Taylor loves Jake, but Jake definitely loves Taylor. He'll continue to hurt, but he's such a noble guy that he'll continue supporting Taylor's relationship with Brot since he knows how much she loves him. He'll be longing for Taylor, and I hope we'll see Taylor begin longing for Jake. Perhaps she'll realize that her and Brot aren't meant to be.

12/3 Transcript

Credit goes to TV MegaSite again. Again, I've included all of Jake's and Taylor's scenes.

Taylor: Brot? Say something?

Brot: Go away, Taylor.

Taylor: Oh, my God. Could you look at me?

Brot: I don't want you to see me like this.

Taylor: I need to see you.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Brot: You think I'm disgusting.
Taylor: No, I don't.
Brot: I saw it, Taylor. You looked at me and you had to pick your jaw up from the ground.
Taylor: I'm -- I'm in shock. I thought you were dead and now you're here. I -- I just -- I need a second to process this.
Brot: You had a second to look at me right here and see me but you couldn't. Just like everyone else, all they see is this.
Taylor: Wait.
Jake: Do you want to -- do you want to -- you could go after him. You want to go after him?
Taylor: Oh, my God. Oh, my God.
Jake: Didn't Frankie tell you? Didn't he -- didn't he warn you what he --
Taylor: What he would look like? Yes. I -- I saw him after the explosion. I knew it would be bad but --
Jake: He looks -- it's very shocking to see somebody that you love look the way that --
Taylor: I never should have reacted like that. Why did you tell him to leave?
Jake: I didn't tell him to leave.
Taylor: When I got here, I heard you tell Brot to go!
Jake: No, I don't -- no, I didn't. I said, "Go to you." I said -- that's what I said, "Go to you."
Taylor: Well, he wouldn't.
Jake: He's just scared. The guy is just, obviously, very scared of something here.
Taylor: He's afraid that I would react exactly the way that I did react which is why he let me believe he was dead. I didn't get it, you know, when Frankie tried to explain it. I didn't get it. I thought he was -- I thought Brot was just cruel and selfish. But seeing him? I guess Brot did die over there, at least most of him, anyway. With that one stupid look, I finished off the rest.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Taylor: Why did I do that? I couldn't keep it together for two seconds?

Jake: You were in shock. That's shocking.

Taylor: But that's -- that's what it's like for him every day. He looks into stranger's eyes, and he's met with this stunned reaction.

Jake: You're not a stranger, right?

Taylor: That is what makes it worse. How could he do this to me? How could he let me believe that he's dead. Maybe he -- maybe he wishes he were dead. Maybe -- maybe he wishes they had just let him die over there.

Jake: No, no, you can't think like that. He lived, and thank God he lived. And that -- that's -- alone, got to count for something.

Taylor: You sound awfully certain.

Jake: Well, he is still the man that you fell in love with, no matter what.

Taylor: Jake, you don't have to say that.

Jake: I know. I know, but he is a person. So maybe you should stop thinking about his face and start searching for his soul.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Jake: Ready to go up?
Taylor: Yeah. Did you find Brot? What happened?
Frankie: He's gone.
Taylor: Where? Did he say anything?
Frankie: Well, we got into it, and he took off.
Taylor: Because of me.
Jake: No, it's because of him.
Frankie: Well, Brot's convinced himself that he's a completely different person. I tried to get through to him, but --
Jake: It's all on him. She did not ask him to come looking for her, so --
Taylor: But he did, and that I ruined everything.
Frankie: Taylor, you could have had a completely perfect reaction. He still would have seen what he wanted to see.
Jake: It just makes it easier for him to walk away.
Taylor: That doesn't make it easier for me. I needed that chance. I needed to look at him and see if he's still in there somewhere.
Frankie: He is. He just has a different face.
Taylor: But I don't care about his face. I didn't fall in love with him for that.
Jake: I need to excuse myself. I have patients.
[Frankie sighs]
Frankie: The man is scared, Taylor.
Taylor: The Brot we knew wasn't scared of anything.
Frankie: Yeah, well, he's forgotten.
Taylor: Then why can't he let me remind him?
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Taylor: You came back.

Brot: Don't turn around.

Taylor: Thought you left town.

Brot: On my way. I just wanted to say goodbye. I figured I owed you that much.

Taylor: So that's that? I have no say?

Brot: What's to say, Taylor? You didn't sign up for this.

Taylor: I signed up for you, I thought.

Brot: The old me, the man you were going to marry. That man doesn't exist anymore.

Taylor: I don't buy that.

Brot: Your face, L.T. You didn't see it, but when you looked at me --

Taylor: I'm sorry. I'm sorry, I'm sorry. I'm -- I'm in a little bit of shock here. You didn't even give me a chance.

Brot: A chance for what? I shouldn't have come.

Taylor: It is you. You are all here -- All of you. I can see that now.

12/3 ~ Face To Face

Taylor forces Brot to face her, and she's shocked. Both her and Brot reel separately from the look she had on her face. Frankie talks to Brot while Jake talks to Taylor. Brot disappears but shows up back at the hospital to see Taylor while hiding behind a curtain. She struggles to get up and pull the curtain open. She holds onto him as she looks into his eyes and sees the man she knows & still loves - very beautiful scene.

I've got to admit, I was so worried about Brot's arrival since I'm already a huge "Take 2"/"JT" fan. On the other hand, I was excited about it because that would give Ricky & Beth a meatier story. I was scared this week, knowing that both Jake and Taylor would find out about Brot. What a damper on their comedic scenes, dancing, and blossoming love. But I've been pleasantly surprised...

Everything with the Brot reveal has been amazing. I even see some chemistry between Brot & Taylor, which is pretty important. I'm eager to see what happens to the Brot/Taylor relationship while hopefully seeing some longing between Taylor & Jake. :)

12/2 Transcript

Credit goes to TV MegaSite again. All Jake and Taylor scenes are included because it's such an important episode.

Frankie: Hey, we need to talk.

Jake: What's up?

Frankie: Taylor's fiancé.

Jake: Yeah.

Frankie: Brot. He's alive, and he's here in Pine Valley.

Jake: You're kidding me? Does she know?

Frankie: No, not yet. I gave Brot a deadline. He's got 20 minutes.

Jake: A deadline for what?

Frankie: To come clean. Either he tells Taylor, or I do.

Taylor: Hey. Are you guys talking about me?

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Taylor: All right, boys. What are you huddling about? Cough it up.
Jake: I have to go to the E.R, and I was asking Frankie if he would cover for me. Physical therapy. For you.
Taylor: Oh, please. Why are you so hush hush?
Jake: Um, we're not, we're not at all. Um, I -- I just wanted to work out a, you know, something with him that would maybe kick your butt, and I actually have that M.R.I. If you want to see it.
Frankie: Yeah, yeah, great. Let's take a look. Be right back.
Jake: It's as simple as that.
Jake: This is not happening.
Frankie: Yes, it is.
Jake: But you were in Iraq when the explosion --
Frankie: He survived. I don't know how, but he did. Bottom line, Brot heard about Taylor's accident, so he came to see her to make sure she's all right, but only from a distance. At least that's the story he gave me after he saw you two together.
Jake: So wait a second. So he's been around here? He's been seeing her? He's be -- he saw us together?
Frankie: Well, he said he just wanted one last look. He got it. Now, he's supposedly taking off.
Jake: So he doesn't want to talk to her? He doesn't want to say something and --
Frankie: Brot has been burned over most of his body. He says he's a different man than Taylor knows. If he's like that, then Taylor's better off thinking he's dead. Now that's what came out of his mouth. His eyes tell me a different story.
Jake: Tell her.
Frankie: You could lose her.
Jake: It makes me want to throw you up against a wall and make sure that you don't open your mouth. Tell her. Not an option.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Taylor: Oh, my gosh. That is hard.

[Taylor chuckles]

Taylor: What are you doing? Are you expecting somebody?

Frankie: Yeah, an old friend of ours is in town.

Taylor: An old friend? Is that who Colby and Amanda were talking about last night?

Frankie: Yeah, yeah. Someone in our unit.

Taylor: Wow. All right, spit it out.

Frankie: When you found out that you would get your legs back, you started feeling hopeful again about your life, your future. You told me that when you feel that hope, you feel Brot and that you feel Brot's with you all the time. There's a reason for that.

Taylor: Are you going to tell me who's in town, or what?

Frankie: I'm sorry I didn't tell you sooner, but he didn't want you to know.

Taylor: Who? Who are we talking about?

Frankie: Brot. Brot's here.

Taylor: I don't -- I don't get it. This is supposed to be funny? Is this the plan that Jake was talking about? The twisted little plan to -- to motivate me?

Frankie: Taylor, I'm telling you the truth.

Taylor: Stop. I swear to God.

Frankie: Hey, I do, too. I do, too, but Brot is alive.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Taylor: Brot's dead.
Frankie: I thought so, too. Until I saw him.
Taylor: He died in Iraq.
Frankie: No, he went underground, got a new identity, and -- I don't know the whole story.
Taylor: I -- I saw the explosion.
Frankie: He survived.
Taylor: This is sick.
Frankie: Taylor, Taylor, just -- just listen to me.
Taylor: Oh, you are such a liar, Frankie.
Frankie: Why would I lie to you? Why? You're my friend. My fellow soldier. Someone who I have the utmost respect and love for. Now, I know this is a shock. Believe me, I know exactly where you are to -- to have someone you love more than anything ripped out of your life, and then, suddenly, they're back, and you're like, "no, no, this doesn't happen," but it did, and it has. This is not a rumor. It's not a hunch. Hey. I saw him. I was with him. I spoke to him last night. There's no doubt about it. Sergeant Broughton Monroe is alive.
Taylor: You'll take me to him?
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Brot: What are you doing here?

Jake: How are you, Brot? Jake Martin. But you know that already because you've seen me with Taylor.

Brot: Did Frankie tell you where I was?

Jake: You know, when my brother told me somebody was paying him for information about Taylor, I thought to myself, maybe -- maybe it was her father, or maybe it's one of her brothers or something, but never in a million years would I have thought it's her dead fiancé.

Brot: I felt obligated to check on her.

Jake: That's a funny thing to say, "obligated" to check on your own fiancée.

Brot: Engagement's long over. She's moved on. Congratulations, Jake.

Jake: And that's it?

Brot: So treat her right. She's one in a million.

Jake: Yeah. She is. And she thought the same thing about you, but you let her think that you were in a pine box, so you know what that means? That means you don't get to tell people how to treat her anymore.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Jake: You're dead. You're not dead. You show up. You don't want to stay. What kind of -- what kind of games are you playing?
Brot: I'm not playing any games. It's over now.
Jake: Well -- well, not for Taylor, it isn't. For Taylor, it's -- it's just beginning. Do you have any idea what she put herself through to try to get back to Iraq? She -- she wasn't ready, Brot. She wasn't ready mentally. She wasn't ready physically. She lied to all of her doctors. She lied to herself. All so she could get over to that hell hole and have herself blown up like her man. If she couldn't have you in this lifetime, she wanted you in the next. She couldn't let you go. She still can't let you go.
Brot: That's not how it looks.
Jake: Well, I -- I understand that. It probably doesn't -- doesn't look good, but she told me so many things about the two of you like, for example, your -- your last night together, your -- your last night when you were dancing and --
Brot: Stop.
Jake: And the music.
Ryan: Stop!
Jake: She talks about you all the time, Brot.
Brot: I said stop!
Jake: She tells me about the memories because she's still in love with you.
[Brot scoffs]
Jake: And that's it? You're going to walk away? Just like that? How can you hurt her like this? I mean, if you -- if you walk away, you're going to leave her with a lifetime of questions, you know? And give her -- give her a chance. Let her decide where to go from here.
Brot: I don't want her anymore. She's all yours.
Jake: Well, that's obviously not true, because you're here.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Jake: Face me. What are you hiding from? Is it true what you said before? You don't want her? You don't love Taylor? Did you ever love her at all?

Brot: Damn right, I did. There were days Taylor was the only thing keeping me alive.

Jake: So tell her. Or you should leave.

Taylor: Brot!

12/2 ~ Brot Revealed

Frankie has given Brot an ultimatum, and Brot tries to leave town as fast as possible. Frankie tells Jake about Brot, and Jake goes to see him. They talk about Taylor, and Brot says she's all Jake's now. Frankie tells Taylor about Brot, and Taylor won't believe it till Frankie takes her to him. We're left with Taylor wheeling up behind Brot, and next they'll have to come face to face.

Michael Fairman Interviews SSW Attendees

Ricky was interviewed by Michael Fairman while at Super Soap Weekend. Various other actors were interviewed too.

Here's Ricky's portion:

RICKY PAULL GOLDIN
ALL MY CHILDREN

As Jake Martin, Ricky Paull and the "AMC" audience have kept a close eye on one of "GL's" all-time favorite leading men. Ricky Paull explains how things are going with the adjustment to his new role and fan expectations.

MICHAEL:

You performed in the "Street Jam", and the crowd seemed to eat it up!

RICKY PAULL:

I sang Steppenwolf's 'Magic Carpet Ride", and played harmonica. It was fun and a blast! We had a built in audience and I probably sucked, and they are still nice to you! You've got to love that.

MICHAEL:

How is the story coming along with you and Beth Ehlers (Taylor) now that you have been on-air on "AMC" for a short while? How do you feel its going?

RICKY PAULL:

It takes a while to get these things going. I don't think the idea is to just grab two people from one show and put them on another, and make them do the same thing now. Beth Ehlers is a great actress, and we love what we do. If I fall in love with her character, and if the fans fall in love, that's great. It's like going to your parents and asking their blessing to move forward with the relationship. In this instance, the fans would be our parents, and we would ask them, "Do you approve?" If they did, we would move forward.

MICHAEL:

Ok, then do you ever say to yourself, "What if it did not work this time? What will the show do with us?"

RICKY PAULL:

We are not joined at the hip. I would say Beth would say the same thing, even if she was standing right next to me. We are not the same person. We had a great run on "GL" and a show we dearly love. There are a lot of great guys on "AMC". She could fall in love with Thorsten's character (Zach).

MICHAEL:

Everyone falls in love with Thorsten's character!

RICKY PAULL:

I am in love with Thorsten's character! (He laughs) There are a lot of great women on the show for me to play with, too. If I have to steal Taylor away from one of those guys, let me do that. That would be fun to watch. If she wants to get my heart, and I am in love with another woman, that would be great to watch.

MICHAEL:

Every time you and Beth appear on the screen, it takes the scenes to another level.

RICKY PAULL:

It takes a while. You have to chisel away, and as soon as we came on the show they brought in a new head writer. I am more interested right now in the storyline with the Iraqi vet. The fact that we are working with real vets, that are acting, is so interesting.

MICHAEL:

How is working with JR Martinez (Brot)?

RICKY PAULL:

JR Martinez is great. He is 25 years old. I am a lot older them him, and I am learning from him every day on the set.

MICHAEL:

Do you think that story is inspiring?

RICKY PAULL:

Absolutely. The stories are real. We had whole scenes on the show the other day with a circle of real vets and those were not scripted. It's what they experienced. They just let the cameras roll and roll.

MICHAEL:

Let's discuss Dr. Jake Martin's botch job of Kendall's brain surgery during the tornado. He is in trouble!

RICKY PAULL:

That's where the drama is. If you mess with anything to do with Zack Slater, well, he is going to crack my skull open… if I don't fix his wife's head. Hopefully what will happen is that they will take away my medical license and I will become some bum on skid row. I will do something to lose my license, mostly because I don't like saying medical terms on the air. I rack my brain in the dressing room trying to make it perfect, like a mini little house doctor.
