Ricky and Beth were interviewed by SoapNet, and the interview was made available today. They discuss Beth's first day and shooting for the opening credits. It is hilarious! These are simply adorable and lovable together.
At some point I'd like to begin writing short recaps of all Jake and Taylor scenes/episodes. They'd include every wonderful detail of the progress in Jake and Taylor's relationship. I'm thinking I'd only write about their scenes together, as opposed to every scene they have with every character they interact with. It's not that I don't love their scenes with other characters or want them to not get involved with other people. I just might want to focus on the Jake/Taylor dynamic as far as the recaps go. We'll see, though.
Today was Beth Ehlers' first appearance on AMC. Very exciting! But her scene was VERY brief. Jake and Taylor ran past each other while jogging, and they didn't even exchange names or any kind of info. Very simple for Taylor's arrival. And that's good because she needs to be integrated slowly, being a brand new character and all. So, since today's scene was so short, a recap isn't necessary. The scene speaks for itself.
There are TWO different covers. From my understanding the big Ricky & Beth cover is on the issues received in the mail (via subscription). The cover with the miniature photo is on the issues found in stores. Make sure you get the big, beautiful, better cover if you're a huge Ricky & Beth fan!
This time credit does go to ME! I captured what I could since I just had to have some pictures of the new promo. Obviously, they're not the best quality, but they're something.

Stephanie Sloane: My other interview was with AMC's Beth Ehlers (Taylor) and Ricky Paull Goldin (Jake), who talked together for the first time about leaving GL, where they played Gus and Harley. We were set to meet at a restaurant in Midtown, after work, but Ricky got stuck on set, so Beth and I had a chance to catch up before he got there. (In a random coincidence, she and I were in a French class together at Syracuse University.) When Ricky finally arrived (full of apologies, of course), we had a delicious steak dinner and the two opened up about the end of "GusH." "I thought that Gus and Harley were going to fall in love again," Beth lamented. "I knew what dress I was going to wear." Their close bond was apparent throughout the interview, and as Ricky said, "If you're watching Beth make dinner in her kitchen, all you have to do is pan over to the living room and you'll see me on the couch with her two kids, all under the blanket, watching the baseball game. I should be on a date, but I'm not." That's just the tip of the iceberg. Read their revealing interview in the new issue.
Ricky & Beth attended the Emmys together and sat at the AMC table. They were shown during the broadcast; Cameron Mathison talked to them. Very cool! Ricky also co-hosted SoapNet's Red Carpet Pre-Show and interviewed Beth. They both had lots of fun and looked fabulous. You can tell how happy they were/are about joining AMC.
This event occurred the night before the Daytime Emmys on June 19, 2008. Ricky & Beth were there together, and it looks & sounds like they had a blast.
Three videos from the party:
SoapNet's Footage This covers the entire party. There's a little bit of Ricky & Beth in it.
The journey of Ricky Paull Goldin and Beth Ehlers on All My Children is now over since the show moved to Los Angeles and Beth was let go. This blog serves as an archive of their time from 2008 through 2009 as Jake Martin and Taylor Thompson.
